TIPPER, MAX & MISTY
We want to nominate our brother George for best brother of the year. At 10 1/2 years old he's the Senior Cat in our family and runs our entire household. He's very patient and always shares his toys and food. Mom & Dad call him a "love sponge" because he always wants to be held and will soak up all the love they give him!
George had a beautiful littermate sister, Gracie, who went to The Bridge very unexpectedly at age 6. They had been together since birth and were adopted together by our Mom & Dad, so they had never been separated. After Gracie was gone, George mourned terribly for her. He looked all over the house, crying out for her, but he couldn't find her. He cried at night for 2 weeks, and Mom & Dad became very worried about him, thinking he might get sick from grief.
So, they decided maybe it would help George if he had a companion. They decided since he was already 6 years old, he might not accept an adult cat so well and so soon after losing Gracie, so they got him a kitten. That's how I (Tipper) was adopted. Poor George...I was the first kitten he had seen since he was one himself and I pestered him day & night! But he was very good about it and tolerated my biting and jumping on him. Even to this day, I'm the only one he lets wrestle with him and clean his ears!
A year after Tipper was adopted, when George was 7, Mom decided to get another kitten. That's how I (Max) came into our family. Again George was a great brother to me, teaching me everything I needed to know to become a Mancat. Now, we're very close and if we're napping on the bed together and George gets down, within a few seconds I follow him to see where he went. We hang out together all the time and I always make sure I know where he is!!
When George was 9 years old, Mom decided to round out our family with 2 boys and 2 girls and I (Misty) was adopted. George has been a great oldest brother to me and put up with all my kittenish ways while I learned about kittyness from him. There were only a few times I got batted for biting too hard on his tail or ears. We think our brother George would be great as the first recipient of the Best Sibling of the Year award!!
